Raster

There are many raster file types and it can get confusing. Raster images are the most common files that are shared or presented to a screen printer.
These include the following:

  • jpg
  • jpeg
  • gif
  • png
  • tiff
  • pdf

Most of these files are from the web, camera phones and scanned images. These raster images have to meet a certian standards

before they can be used for screen printing. We will be adding the list of standards in the coming weeks.

Vector

Vecotor files are the hardiest to attain. Most people do not know what a vector file is. Vetcor files include the following:

  • cdr
  • eps
  • ai
  • dxf
  • cmx

The vector files are native, which means that who ever created the files have them in the orginal formats. This is why we say these are the hardiest

to attain. Most artist will not let go of the master file. Once you have a vector file, you can do anything you want with that file.

We will be adding a full list of how vector files can be used in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
